Discovering the Musée Héritage Museum Archives

Musée Héritage Museum, 5 St. Anne Street

Oct 4–11, 2019

To celebrate Archives Week 2019, the Musée Héritage Museum is proud to open a new exhibit in our permanent gallery dedicated to the archives. “Discovering” is an exhibit that will highlight what an archives is, what kind of materials are found in archives, the work that goes into preservation and digitization, and also look at the need for climate control in the archives. There will be a TV screen to showcase different materials from our archives that we have digitized over the years, such as photographs, LPs, audio cassettes, VHS, beta, and more. As well, there will be a computer for people to search through our holdings. We will also be bringing back our popular Archives Challenges where people can test their interpretive skills bases on archival reproductions placed on the table and answering questions.

Our museum will also be participating in the ASA’s social media campaign to highlight different groups of people who visit archives and the diverse types of records available to them.
