Already a new year, we hope 2021 will be a good year for you! If you still need a few crafts to make this season special, here are some more ideas.
One of our favourite things to do during the holidays is to curl up with a good book. If there is a bookworm in your family, they might appreciate receiving a new bookmark. We’ve created some bookmarks that you can decorate, based on St. Albert’s heritage sites!
There are also plenty of printable book marker options online to choose from. We also included ways to recycle Christmas cards and wrapping paper into adorable holiday crafts.
Here are some links to book marker ideas:

We also have more holiday stories to share with you from Peel’s Prairie Provinces Archival Newspapers:
First Christmas in Lao, St. Albert Gazette, 1964Rudolf the Pocket-Sized Bear, St. Albert Gazette, 1978
We have some more old-fashioned Christmas cards for you as well, so choose your favourites to print and send through the post or email. Here is the link to the old-fashioned Christmas cards:
This has been a unique holiday season, but we hope you were able to connect safely with your friends and family wherever they may be. If you have not had a look at the Pandemic Exhibition featured at the museum in 2019 then take some time to learn more about this history at Pandemic exhibition. There is still time to write about your experiences during covid and submit them for the museum archives, the information is located at covid 19 experiences

From all of us at the Musée Héritage Museum we want to wish you all a very Happy New Year, stay healthy and safe!
