Heritage Sites Moment: Prepping for the community garden at the St. Albert river lots

This winter has been busy with preparations moving forward to get our community garden started for the 2021 growing season.

Connecting with the community is a core focus of the gardens. Last year pollinator beds were planted and accessible raised garden beds were built.

In 2021 we plan to continue growing fresh produce for the St. Albert Food Bank will plant a traditional Métis herb garden in honour of Dr. Anne Anderson.

Community gardens have grown in popularity over the years and we are excited to welcome interested community members to learn more about the gardens located on the heritage site river lots.

For more information about the gardens or to add your name to the list for reserving a garden plot please call 780 459-1528 or email museum@artsandheritage.ca

Special thanks to the TD Foundation and the Whole Kids Foundation for providing funding that helps our gardens grow at the river lot heritage sites!
