CLASSES:

  • July 8 – Mixed Media Notebooks: Make yourself a journal or sketchbook using a variety of papers and book-making techniques. Once your notebook is assembled you can decorate the cover with collage materials, or paint on designs with India ink.
  • July 15 – Tree Sculpture with Twisted Wire and Beads: Twist wires together and add beads to build an intricate three-dimensional tree sculpture. What type of tree are you going to create?
  • July 22 – Mountain Scene Painting on canvas: Create an acrylic painting on canvas inspired by our beautiful Rocky Mountains. Participants will be provided with reference photos from the Rockies and will develop their colour-mixing and painting skills.
  • July 29 – Weaving with fabric and yarn: Make a beautiful piece of textile art using colourful yarns and fabrics. Participants will learn the basics of using a simple loom and experiment with patterns and colours.
  • August 19 – Lino block and Styrofoam Printmaking: Participants will develop their designs on Styrofoam or a block of linoleum and then learn how to print their image onto paper using a variety of coloured inks. Designs can be printed many times!
  • August 26 – Layered Fabric Wall-Hanging: Create a bold and bright textile wall-hanging by layering coloured felt and fabric pieces onto a 12” x 12” dark cotton background.

Don’t miss out on important class updates! We send important participant emails and updates directly through Eventbrite. Make sure Eventbrite emails are going to your Inbox – you will receive an email confirmation immediately after you register in a program. If you do not see the email confirmation, check your junk folder.
