The Art Gallery of St. Albert has developed an exciting range of Indigenous Visual Arts Programs that everyone can take part in!

The Gallery’s Indigenous Visual Art Programmer, Heather Shillinglaw, has experience designing and delivering Indigenous-based art programs to thousands of students over the past twenty years. She is a renowned Métis artist whose art has been exhibited in galleries all over the world.

All grades can take part in one of six Indigenous programs best designed for grade level curriculum content. Each student will create their own project to display at the school and/or take home.

Our Artist-in-Residence fee is based on $8.75 per student plus daily travel fees of $60 for local schools (located in St. Albert or Edmonton) or $90 for schools located in outlying areas (including Sherwood Park, Morinville, Spruce Grove, and Legal). Please include an extra day for dropping off all program totes the Friday prior.

Each program is 1.5 hours long and we can provide up to three programs per day with a one-hour lunch period and half hour breaks between each program.
