As you will see in the video above, the Musée Héritage Museum is available to you even if you cannot physically come out to see us. One of the ways we have done this is to put some of our previous exhibitions online, as you will see in the video.
Another component we have online is a digital tour of the Founders’ Walk in St. Albert. “The Founders’ Walk serves as a walk through St. Albert’s history and ties together several historic, cultural, educational and commercial facilities. ” When you go on this walk, you will see panels that talk about the historic context to the area. We encourage everyone to take this walk when you have the chance, however, if you can’t make it out we have reproduced the panels on our website, along with a map of where the panels are at in order for you to follow along. And watch during the summer months when our museum offers walking tours with one of our staff members through the downtown, Mission, and river areas of St. Albert.
You can also use the website to discover what is in our artifacts an archive collections, we have added search areas where you can search from home about what we have in our collections!
On the artifacts database, you can search different topics, such as people or places, or just do a general search. We’ve also highlighted some special collections, such as those related to the Callihoo family. If you find something that you would like to take a look at, please get in touch with us.
Similarly, you can search our archives database for any documentary heritage items, such as textual items, maps, photographs, oral histories, videos, etc. You can do a keyword search here or do an advanced search to further filter your search results. Often times when we digitize our photos, maps, or other items, we will also add it to the database so you can take a look at the image yourself. Again, you can get in touch with us if you would like to get copies or want to come in physically to see anything.
We hope that you will explore our website, as we have tons to offer in the way of our exhibitions, collections, archives, programming, gift shop and heritage sites. Everyone is always welcome at our museum, but you also have the option to explore us online.
